Last Friday, Rights for Peace and SUNS (Survivors Network of South Sudan) made a submission to the report of the Special Rapporteur on violence against women and girls to the 62nd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council on Violence against mothers. 

On 23 January, the Selection Panel announced the completion of its work: selecting the four South Sudanese Commissioners who will oversee the Commission on Truth, Reconciliation and Healing. Along with three non-South Sudanese Commissioners, who are being selected by the African Union, in collaboration with the UN, they will lead the CTRH - a key transitional justice mechanism in South Sudan.

Reflecting on 25 years since the landmark UNSCR 1325 on Women, Peace and Security was released. In particular, analysing three of the Resolution's eighteen operative clauses in relation to the conflict in South Sudan.
